High-throughput “multi-omics”: Barcoding nuclei to illuminate single-cell epigenetics

For more meaningful analysis of properties of heterogeneous samples, researchers sorted barcoded cells for downstream sequencing, and added a second barcode without handling single cells. In addition to higher throughput, the team got up to hundreds of cell libraries per PCR well instead of one. With this method, researchers could study “multi-omics” at the single-cell level. SH800 Cell Sorter

The SH800 cell sorter helped this team develop a cost effective, high throughput multi-omics method for obtaining epigenetics information at the single-cell level. The lab’s dedicated sorter, optimized for high throughput, was indispensable for distributing nuclei labeled with DNA “barcodes” into plates. Disposable fluidics simplified switching between mouse and human samples. Ease of use enabled new researchers to learn to sort on their own within a day. More on the SH800
